Welcome to the Steeltown Session!
We're a group of musicians from the Pittsburgh area who gather twice a month to play Irish traditional music. This site is a place where we share photos, videos and audio clips from our sessions and provide session news and info.

The Steeltown Session is an "open" session and anyone who plays Irish traditional music is welcome, although it is requested that a traditional instrument be played. This would include; Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Flute, Whistle, Concertina/Button Box Bodhran, etc. (Bongos, Glockenspiels, Sousaphones, Theremins and Hurdy Gurdys are generally frowned upon and met with disdain).

Sessions are held on the last Thursday of each month at the Harp and Fiddle Irish Pub located at the intersection of 24th and Penn in the Strip District. The session runs from 8:00pm on. See the session info page for more details and a location map.
